1. Much discussion about this month’s luncheon to be held at El Mercado with Class Act Dance Troupe performing. Discussions centered around logistics, problems, etc. One thing that was emphasized is that in the future, phone reservations must go to a committee member, not the Queen overseeing the planning or any other member of the Diva Council. Queen Marie, who was the supervising Council Member, must have had almost 30 telephone RSVP’s for those ladies who do not have email. This won’t be allowed another time. Looks like we can expect at least 75 at this month’s luncheon.

2. Marie is in discussions with the Marriott South for June luncheon. She continues to work with them regarding the for profit tea regarding menu, price, etc. Discussion followed on other possible locations, vendor space, etc.

3. It was suggested and agreed upon that in the interest of promoting more social interaction in smaller groups, that is held during the week, we initiate a general drop in for cocktails and appetizers on a more casual basis once a month during the week. This will help bring in the ladies who cannot attend on Saturdays. The first one will be held at Iron Cactus North, on Thursday, July 13th, anytime after 5:00 p.m. The purpose is for Food, Fun, Frivolity and we are going to call these “Divas Do Happy Hour” DDHH. Ladies will be asked to wear a red hat to identify themselves but purple clothing will not be necessary.

Other possible locations will be Romeo’s, ZTejas, places that have 1/2 price appetizers. We will announce this at the luncheon on Saturday and Bobbie will send email out later in June about it, Mary Ellen will post on Website.

4. We will look for a volunteer to coordinate a Round Rock Express game at this upcoming luncheon.

5. It was decided to get permanent name tags for the Council members. Linda will research and was approved to spend $7 - $9 or $10 each for ones that attach with magnets - no pins. They will say “Queen Kathie”, etc.

6. Discussion regarding ladies dropping out, why, can we bring them back, connect with them better. Mary Ellen volunteered to start a spreadsheet tracking attendance at luncheons, and when she notices a lack of participation maybe 2 times in a row, to write them an email making contact again. Sarah has participants for March to give to her and we’ll start official tracking this month.

7. No birthdays celebrated this month.

Next Diva Council Meeting: Wednesday, June 16th, location TBD, Queen Barbara hostess. Note: We will be celebrating Linda’s December birthday now in June!!!.

Respectfully,
Bobbie Mabry, Resident Scribe
