COUNCIL OF QUEENS

l. AAD Monthly Luncheons: Much discussion ensued over the issue of
the monthly luncheons. From now
on, at least
one member of the Queen’s Council
is responsible
for the luncheons in their entirety.
Helpers
who have already signed up, will
be used
strictly in a help mode - registration,
name
tags, etc. Decorations, if any,
door prizes,
to be paid from the amount collected
for
the luncheon.
2. July luncheon - Marie reported the July luncheon will
be held at the Hyatt on Town
Lake downtown
Austin. Validated parking is
available. Marie
is working with them to finalize
the menu.
3. Diva money issue - Convergence money (Diva AAD account) still on hand versus
$20 Dooz (Diva Dooz) money, in
the bank left
over from luncheon expenses.
It was decided:
. Majority vote will prevail
in regards to
disbursement of Diva AAD money
left over
from the Convergence - all Diva
queens are
to vote (we will wait for final
resolution
until Sarah returns).
. All money taken into the chapter
as of
January 1, 2004 in the way of
Dooz stays
in the new, separate Diva Dooz
account. This
new, separate account will be
opened with
Marie and Kathie as signatories
where Dooz
monies will deposited each month,
expenses
for decorations, name tags, sharpie
pens,
directory expense, $24/month
for website
maintenance, door prizes, etc.,
paid out,
and remainder left in account
for expense
items that are incurred and needed.
4. Copywrite name: Kathie and Marie will look into getting
the name Austin Adorable Divas
copywrited.
5. Council Members’ Yearly Dooz: Kathie French-Todd moved and it was seconded,
that Council members will not
pay yearly
Dooz. Passed unanimously. Also
approved was
that the yearly Dooz will be
increased on
1-1-05 to $25.00/year.
6. 2003 Convergence Registration: It was decided unanimously that all current
Council members plus Katrinka
Koeninger and
Susan Shaw will receive their
$150.00 2003
Convergence registration back.
Carol Clester
is not included as she was comp’d
her registration
because of the large sponsorship
she had
obtained.
7. Vendors at Luncheons: When any outside vendor (e.g., Simon Shaw)
requests vendor space for a monthly
luncheon,
this must be preapproved by the
Council at
least one month in advance, after
submitting
the Vendor Request Approval Form
(Linda will
design). The request will be
submitted to
the Council, the Council meeting
one month
before the requested date for
approval/disapproval.
8. Cost of Luncheons: Approval was unanimously given to raise the
cost of the luncheons to $17.00
- cost to
restaurant maximum $15.00 or
less walk-out
cost. We would collect $17.00
to cover cost
of expenses, i.e., door prizes,
decorations,
etc., as shown above.
9. AAD Council’s Luncheon Cost: Approved unanimously that the luncheon cost
to Diva Council members will
be the ‘wholesale’
cost that month. In other words,
what the
restaurant is charging for the
meal without
extra money built in to cover
expenses.
10. September 2004 Monthly Luncheon - Barbara Combs, Queen, in charge, targeted
for the Holiday Inn, which will
be a trunk
show. We’re looking at Berryhill
Bahama Grill
for October’s luncheon.
11. Divas Do Happy Hour - First gathering scheduled for Thursday,
July 15th at the Iron Cactus
North. Purple
attire not required.
12. Trademark - Kathie brought up discussion of a new,
copywrited logo for the chapter.
Probably
use State of Texas with big,
froofy hat,
star for Austin. Kathie will
talk to Diva
Arleen Harris who will be offered
opportunity
to design something; take a look
at a fresh
logo for the Divas. The Divas
will pay for
the design whoever designs it.
If selected,
we will ‘own’ it.
13. Austin Adorable Divas Tea Room - General discussion regarding the possibility
of the Divas running a Tea Room.
Nothing
definitive decided - still in
‘what if’ stage.
Discussions will be ongoing.
14. Next regular meeting of the Austin Adorable Divas Council is Wednesday,
July 21st. Hopefully Sarah will
be available.
If we move to the 28th, then
Kathie may be
back from her vacation but then
Sarah won’t
be here.
